Ashok Leyland, the commercial vehicle major, reported 89 per cent growth in net profit to Rs 167 crore during the second quarter of this financial year, as compared to Rs 88.6 crore, during the same period last year. Revenue rose by 72 per cent to Rs 2,714 crore from Rs 1,577.3 crore for the same quarter last year.

Tanla Solutions Ltd, a city-based provider of telecom value-added services, reported a 69.99 per cent drop in net profit to Rs 3.25 crore, compared to Rs 10.83 crore in the corresponding period of last year. The company's total revenues fell 13.5 percent to Rs 78.34 crore in the reporting quarter from Rs 90.67 crore. Overseas sales accounted for 97 per cent of the total revenues. Its total expenditure was Rs 75.96 crore (Rs 77 crore).

Muthoot Capital Services Limited(MCSL) registered 46.2 per cent increase in net profit to Rs 2.5 crore in September quarter of 2010-11, as against Rs 1.71 crore in the corresponding quarterof last year.
